Michael Brophy

Michael BrophyMichael is Founder and CEO of Certification Europe – a group of accredited certification bodies founded in 2001, which provides ISO Certification and Inspection services to organisations globally. Michael is a graduate of the University of Ulster and the Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain), with a Master in European Policy and Regulation at Lancaster University.

Considered an expert in the fields of international standards and compliance assessment he has over 15 years’ experience in information security standards for government, military and various business sectors (pharmaceutical, telecoms, financial, IT and security printing sectors). Michael is also one of Europe’s leading authorities on standardisation and the ISO 27001 standard.

Michael has particular expertise in the field of electronic signatures; developing national legislation and national regulatory bodies to govern the use and legal basis for electronic signatures. He has previously advised on the establishment of standards at a national and international level, and he would be viewed as one of Ireland’s leading authorities on standardisation and has served on various EU Commission committees. Michael is also Chair of the Association of Accredited Certification Bodies (AACB).

Simon Loughran

Simon LoughranSimon is Head of Information Security Services at Certification Europe. He is an experienced ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and an Information Security Professional with 20 years of experience. This experience includes assessing, testing, auditing, developing, implementing, managing and reviewing information security / technology requirements across a diverse spectrum of industry. His experience covers a broad swathe of IT & IS services including; Information Security management, ISO 27001, ISO 20000, ITIL, Business Continuity, end to end IT / IS systems infrastructure security, support, managed services, ISP (Cloud and Hosting), networks and training delivery.

Simon’s professional accreditations are an industry recognised testament to his diligent approach to maintaining high standards. He currently includes CISSP, EC Security Analyst / Licensed Pen Tester, Certified Ethical Hacker, MCSE and ITIL Foundation, ISO 20000 Auditor, Websense Certified Security Engineer, HP platforms specialist, amongst others.

Luke Feeney

Luke FeeneyLuke has been the Director of Quality & Accreditation and a Knowledge, Information and Quality Management consultant with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Institute of Leadership since September 2006. Luke has first class honors MSc in Quality & Safety in Healthcare and a professional doctorate from the University of Sunderland, UK. His area of research was the design and development of an integrated CQI framework for healthcare risk, incident & audit management.

Luke has lectured, trained and consulted on all aspects of healthcare knowledge & information management and quality, risk & patient safety management and systems in the Royal College of Surgeons, Trinity College Dublin, the USA and the Middle East and has extensive practitioner experience of quality management having implemented and worked to ISO 9001, IHSAB, JCI, Excellence Ireland (managing people & organisations), UAE MOHESR CAA and ISO 27001 quality standards. Luke is also a certified CHKS Healthcare Surveyor, ISO 27001 Information Security Management Systems Lead Auditor, a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner (Project Management) and a World Health Organization (WHO) consultant (risk management).
