Local Authority Waste Inspection and Enforcement Services

We provide outsourced waste management and inspection services for Local Authority and the National Transfrontier Shipment of Waste office (NTFSO). Our authorised officers are specialists in all aspects of Waste Management.

Services provided;

  • Investigations of all aspects of illegal waste activity, including investigations into unauthorised collection, storage and disposal of waste
  • Carrying out surveillance and audits in response to complaints or suspect activity
  • Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled site visits
  • Collecting, managing and interpreting data and the gathering of intelligence in relation to illegal waste activities
  • Auditing of Waste Facility Permits, Certificates of Registration and Waste Collection Permits to enforce reporting and annual returns requirements
  • Assisting with permit applications and assessments including reviews
  • Assessing construction and demolition plans, food waste plans and any other plans or proposals in relation to waste management as requested by the Council
  • Conducting road checks in conjunction with An Garda Síochána and Customs Officers
  • Liaising with other enforcement bodies including the EPA's Office of Environmental Enforcement, the Customs Services, and other Local Authorities as required
  • Collecting evidence for the preparation of prosecution reports and present evidence in Court
  • Tracking of waste movements to their final destinations
  • Preparing Legal files and giving of evidence in court

National TFS Office (NTFSO) Inspection and Enforcement Services

  • Investigating and reporting on illegal shipments
  • Carrying out inspections at National shipping ports/airports
  • Carrying out surveillance and audits in response to complaints or suspect activity

  • Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled site visits

  • Collecting, managing and interpreting data and the gathering of intelligence in relation to illegal waste activities

  • Assisting in the repatriation of waste as required

  • Auditing of Waste Facility Permits, Certificates of Registration and Waste Collection Permits to enforce reporting and annual returns requirements

  • Assessing construction and demolition plans, food waste plans and any other plans or proposals in relation to waste management as requested by the Council

  • Conducting road checks in conjunction with An Garda Síochána and Customs Officers
