The Eastern Midlands Regional Waste Offices (EMWRO) have been shortlisted in two categories in this year’s Green Awards. The EMWRO have been nominated for the Green Public Sector Organisation of the Year award and Sustainability Team of the Year. Two members of Certification Europe 's Environment and Inspectorate Division Declan Breen and Emma Cassin work with the EMWRO.

What are the Green Awards?

The Green Awards are known as the long-standing benchmark for excellence for those demonstrating best green practice in Ireland. The winners will be announced on February 21st at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road hosted by Colm O’Regan.

Who are EMWRO?

EMWRO are responsible for the implementation of the region’s Waste Management Plan. This plan is underpinned by National and European waste legislation and our work will ensure the continued management of waste in a safe and sustainable manner. The EMWRO is managed by Dublin City Council, as the lead authority for the waste region.
