Certification Europe clients win at the Green Awards

The Green Awards

The 2013 Green Awards took place last night in front of an audience made up of Ireland's most environmentally concious organisations and individuals. Compare for the night was Dermot Whelan of RTÉ's Republic of Telly.

Now entering its 5th year, the award ceremony attracted over 500 representatives from all over Ireland, who gathered to applaud the finalists over the 22 categories. The awards themselves attracted over 160 entries. Chairman of the judging committee, Duncan Stewart, Architect and Environmentalist, commented that the overall high standard made choosing the eventual winners all the more difficult.

Certification Europe's clients were involved in most of the Green Awards categories and they managed to win an impressive haul.

The Green Awards

The Grand Prix winner for "The Overall Green Award" was GlaxoSmithKline Cork, they also managed to pick up "The Green Large Organisation Award". Similarly Diageo also picked up two awards, one for "The Green Medium Sized Organisation Award" and "The Green Food Producer Award".

Thornton's Recycling picked up the "The Waste to Business Resource Award" for their incredible work at recycling and from turning waste into usable and sustainable material for businesses throughout the country.

Certification Europe's partners also managed to win a couple of awards as well with Rx3 winning "The Green Public Sector Award" and Enrich Environmental Ltd winning "The Green Technology Award".

So join us now in wishing GlaxoSmithKline, St James's Gate Brewery, Thornton's Recycling, Rx3 and Enrich Environmental a very big well done!

Overall it was a fantastic night to see so many companies and individuals concerned about making their business more ecologically sound and sustainable. We look forward to next year's Green Awards event when we hope our clients and partners will have an even better year!
