Padraic White: Chairman
The former Managing Director of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), Padraic is Chairman and Director of several private companies and is also Chairman of a number of public sector enterprise committees. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Dublin based North side Area Development Partnership. He is a regular contributor on economic development matters in the national media, and author of the much-respected book on the phenomena of "The Celtic Tiger". He brings to Certification Europe a wealth of experience encompassing both the public and private sector.
Thomas Cooke: Non-Executive Director
A founding Director of the company Thomas has his own private corporate consultancy company called TCA Associates which specialises in advising and establishing companies in the environmental and renewable energy sectors. Thomas is also a Director and shareholder in several technology companies specialising in bio-organics, energy storage, wind energy and biomass.
Prior to forming his own corporate advisory company in 1988, Thomas previously worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers and with the Industrial Development Authority (IDA). He is a Business Studies graduate of Trinity College, Dublin.
PJ Henehan FCCA FITI: Non Executive Director
A recent appointment to the Board, PJ retired as a partner in Ernst and Young in June 2010, where he was a senior tax partner. He now runs his own consulting and business advisory company and holds a number of Non Executive Directorships. During his time at Ernst and Young PJ advised a broad range of domestic and multinational financial services, property, renewable energy, and services companies. In addition to his tax knowledge he brings to Certification Europe extensive experience of corporate governance, strategic planning and risk management. PJ is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and of the Irish Taxation Institute.
Michael Brophy: CEO
Michael is a graduate of the University of Ulster and the Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain and completed a Masters in European Policy and Regulation at Lancaster University in the UK. He was a founding member of the Centre for Corporate Environmental Management (CCEM) at the University of Huddersfield in the UK where, as a Research Fellow, he lectured for three years in the School of Business on various management standards. Michael is one of Ireland's leading authorities on standardisation and has also served on various EU Commission committees as an expert in information security and electronic signature standardisation.
Dr. John Ryan – Non Executive Director
Dr. Ryan is a founding member of Certification Europe. He is a former Chairman of Ireland’s largest independent business representative group (ISME) and a member of the Institute of Directors holding qualifications in company direction and corporate governance.
With over 20 years’ experience in the areas of standards, sustainability, energy and carbon related matters John brings extensive expertise to clients of Certification Europe and he has helped major clients to reduce risks to their business.
In recognition for his competence in assessing the impact of global regulation on the SME market John has been appointed an expert to the International Organisation for Standardisation and to the EU (UEAPME) on sustainable development matters.
Gerry Kelly – Finance Director
Gerry is the Finance Director of Certification Europe and joined the company in 2000. He has over fifteen years of financial services career experience and is a key member of the Certification Europe team.
Marese Feeney – Environment & Inspectorate Manager
Marese joined Certification Europe Limited in November 2012 and has almost 10 years’ experience working in waste enforcement in Ireland. Her experience in waste enforcement includes dealing with numerous Local Authorities to ensure compliance with both national and internal waste legislation. Marese has developed an in-depth knowledge of enforcement and inspection procedures over the years and has spoken at numerous waste conferences and seminars that have kept her up to date with developments in the waste industry.
Marese has a BSc in Environmental Science from Sligo Institute of Technology and is a member of the Chartered Institute of waste management (MCIWM). Away from the office Marese enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Rob Lyons – Sales Manager
A self- motivated Business Development Manager with excellent communication skills and a strong track record in maximising sales opportunities through territory management, key account planning, new business development and KPI management. A Key contributor in the development and execution of sales and marketing plans, customer focused results orientated, flexible and a committed team player. A career spanning various industries demonstrating agility in different market places, and a willingness to learn and excel within each.
Away from the office Rob is married with three children but still finds time to indulge his hobbies of golf, rugby and acting.
